What changes when there is no GST?
If you are not registered under GST, you must not print "Tax Invoice", charge GST, or show a GSTIN. Instead, issue the bill as an "Invoice" and keep the price inclusive of whatever you charge. Everything else — clear itemisation, totals, payment terms — stays the same.
What an invoice without GST should include
- The word "Invoice" (not "Tax Invoice")
- Your business name, address and contact details
- Customer name and address
- A unique invoice number and the date
- Description, quantity and rate for each item or service
- The total amount payable
- Payment terms, due date and payment method
Why you should still use a professional format
A clean, branded format without GST still signals a serious business and gets paid faster. Choose a minimal template, add your logo, and export a PDF — no tax columns required. If you later register for GST, you simply switch on the GST fields and continue with the same layout.
